La Bella Figura

This Italian term means "the beautiful figure" and it is what Italian women strive for everyday while still being able to recognize the little joys of life. Always treat yourself. You deserve it.

Flapper is Back

Okay, here's a bit of a history lesson. The Jazz Age was on the rise and so was the 'Flapper' image of the 1920's.  This fashion statement of the decade rolled around after the first world war was over along with the flu pandemic of 1918. The dog days were over and women let it be known through their fashion. It was a way women could celebrate winning their right to vote and their youthful beauty all at once. They chopped their hair off and put on bright make up to personify their celebration.
The Flapper is identified with a loose fitting dress with a drop waist. Give or take the tassels and the feathers, Flapper was not partial to sexy or even flattering. The female figure in Flapper didn't allow for curves whatsoever. The reason being was sewing machines were easy to come by and making clothes at home saved women a lot of money after the war. Since less tailoring was involved women could still be trendy while making their clothes at home. All women were glamor queens in this particular decade.

I think it might be coming back in Spring 2012 fashion.

Best,
